Seaweed Salad

I had a lot of issues with this dish, but I also learned a lot from it. The first time I made it, I forgot to add the cherries and the onions. So the flavor wasn’t as balanced as the recipe intended. (This was another recipe from my RAW FOOD/REAL WORLD book). I should warn you that this salad is a good clean you out recipe. It contains beets, daikon radish, and cucumber which I discovered later all are tonic for your spleen, liver, gi tract etc (my problem areas) according to my RAWSOME book. It also contains four different kinds of seaweed which is apparently really good for helping your body purge environmental toxins. I can tell you that I had a very EXTREME reaction to this salad. So while my experience with it wasn’t altogether pleasant, it was at least telling. Because it definitely inspired me to look up all the ingredients afterwards 🙂

This wasn’t Dennis’ fave so far as he’s allergic to beets. (Not to mention I forgot some of the ingredients). Tastewise, it wasn’t as amazing as the tomato tartar. But educationally, it was way up there.
